Dr. Louie provides a wide array of comprehensive services including dentistry for adults, children, geriatrics and the handicapped. 

Services include but are not limited to the following

Diagnostic

  • Teeth examination.
  • Soft tissue and oral cancer screening.
  • TMJ (temporomandibular joint) screening.
  • Occlusion (bite) analysis.
  • Periodontal examination (gums and bone height around teeth).
  • Cosmetic smile evaluation.

Preventive

  • Teeth cleaning.
  • Fluoride.
  • Sealants for adults and children (protective resin bonded into the grooves of the chewing surfaces of the back teeth molars and premolars) so they’ll never decay (like wax on your car to protect the paint finish).
  • Space maintainers for children who have had premature tooth loss.

Restorative

  • Fillings – white metal free composite resin or traditional silver amalgam.
  • Onlays & inlays – lab cast cementable fillings of white, ceramic “porcelain” called Emax or Zirconia.
  • Crowns – metal free porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal — precious, semi-precious, or non-gold crowns.
  • Bridges – to replace missing teeth or upgrade from wearing a removable partial denture.  These have the same dental material choices as crowns which can be traditional or non-invasive adhesive bridge.
  • Bonding – using a tooth-colored enamel-like resin to fix or repair chipped teeth, filling in overbrushed areas near the gumline such that the roots are exposed and sensitive, reshape or recontour teeth to be longer, bigger or more square, more round or wider, close small gaps between teeth.

dental implants

  • An alternative very much like your own tooth.
  • Permanently replaces missing teeth.  They look, feel and perform like real teeth!  They will never decay and they will pierce, rip, tear and chew for you because they are anchored into bone.  Replace your full denture with an implant supported denture (called “All on Five”), or you can make existing loose dentures lock down firmly in your mouth with just 2 implants.  Avoid cutting perfectly good teeth down just to support a fake tooth in the middle as in traditional bridges or adhesive bonded bridges.  You can have implant supported bridges if you don’t want partial dentures too. Dr. Louie’s 88-year-old mother had 4 painless implants and was able to chew everything from steak to corn on the cob, apples and nuts!

Cosmetic Dentistry

  • Veneers – porcelain veneers do for teeth what acrylics do for fingernails.  You can have perfectly beautiful, straight teeth without braces.  Permanently close gaps, make a “pushed-in” tooth “come out” and line up with the rest of your teeth.  Change the size of your teeth or the shape or color with veneers.  Cover up imperfections or permanent discolorations.  Make your smile bigger or fuller with veneers.
  • Teeth Whitening – whiten your teeth while you sleep, with customized take-home whitening trays and bleach, or whiten your teeth in-office with ZOOM! Bleaching in about an hour.

Periodontics

  • Gum treatments for periodontal (gum) disease.
  • Halitosis (bad breadth) control.
  • Eliminate bleeding from the gums while brushing or flossing.
  • Personalized dental hygiene training.  You’d be surprised what A LOT can be achieved with just A LITTLE brushing and flossing.
  • Decrease complications for those who have diabetes, cardiovascular disease or who are pregnant by preventing periodontal disease.  Likewise, untreated periodontal disease can increase the risk for heart disease, stroke, and pre-term low birth weight babies.

Endodontics

(provided by a Specialist Endodontist)

  • Root canals – saving a tooth by removing the nerve from the root so there is no more pain without having to pull the tooth.  The root is then filled with a root canal filling and usually a filling or crown follows to fully restore and protect the tooth.

Prosthodontics (Removable)

  • Full dentures
  • Partial dentures
  • Flexible dentures (Valplast) without showing clasps or hooks.

Surgery

  • Extractions – simple, uncomplicated tooth removal or orthodontic tooth removal, residual root removal, and some surgical extractions for broken down teeth.
  • Impacted lower wisdom teeth are generally referred to a Board-Certified Surgeon that Dr. Louie’s own family uses, including herself.

Dr. Louie enjoys doing smile makeovers, cosmetic crowns and bridges or implants, but whatever the service is, Dr. Louie strives for high quality and high standards.  She is thorough, nitpicky, perfectionistic and very detail oriented.  She takes the time to make it work and make it right, all the while being very patient and gentle.  Her motto is:
